Jay-Z: Beyonce is 'the second coming' of Michael Jackson: Rapper says he knows it's 'blasphemy' to compare the two, but says she's inspiring

After three years of marriage, Jay-Z and wife Beyonce have remained famously tight-lipped about one another.

But the 41-year-old rapper (real name: Shawn Carter) couldn't help but gush about his wife's talents as a performer while promoting "Watch the Throne," his smash, acclaimed new album with Kanye West.

MTV's Rap Fix reports that Jay-Z even compared Beyonce, 29, to the Gloved One himself, Michael Jackson, who died in June 2009 at age 50...

"What I've learned from her is similar to what I learned from Mike [Jackson] — and I know that's blasphemy to compare the two because Mike was such an innovator — but I think she's like the second coming," Jay-Z said during a phone call to Miami, Florida, radio station 99 Jamz.

"You know, the hard work and dedication that she puts into her shows. It just makes you want to work harder at your own craft. She's like a machine," he raved of his wife, currently promoting her own album,"4," with intimate shows scheduled this week at NYC's Roseland.

Meanwhile, the rapper lived very, very large on Sunday night celebrating his latest release at LIV Miami on Sunday — treating guests at the club to a reported $250,000 worth of Armand de Brignac Champagne.

According to 42-year-old Anthony's rep, the Latin crooner was in town to visit his children. (In addition to his two kids with Lopez, Anthony has three additional children: one out of wedlock, and two with his first wife, Dayanara Torres. It's unclear which children Anthony was visiting.)

An insider recently told Us Weekly that Anthony isn't quite over his ex, 42, who signed on for another season of "American Idol" Wednesday.

"His mood shifts from blaming her to begging her to take him back to telling her she is destroying his life," the insider told Us. While hashing out the details of their impending divorce, Anthony was "being difficult on every little point...He wants to prolong things so she reconsiders."

@JustinBieber scent inspires $32 ice cream sundae

If you’ve had a hankering for a sweet taste of Bieber, book yourself a trip to London, where department store Harrod’s is offering an ice cream sundae inspired by the pop star’s perfume, Someday. The “Bieber Bocker Glory” was created in conjunction with the launch of the fragrance, and “inspired” by its floral notes.

So what is it made of? Not perfume, luckily, but wild berry and vanilla ice cream, with fresh pear, lavender sprinkles and -- Bieberettes rejoice! -- even edible glitter.

As far as the name goes, "bocker" means something "especially cute or adorable" according to urbandictionary.com

While the $32 sundae, available through August, costs almost as much as the $35 perfume itself, at least the money goes to a good cause: Proceeds benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

John Mayer admits he was a 'tweetaholic'

"It started to make my mind smaller and smaller and smaller. And I couldn't write a song," John Mayer says of Twitter.

Hmmm, some might have guessed John Mayer would be into harder stuff. But it turns out the guitar-slinger/singer-songwriter was addicted to Twitter! Known for his witty banter and over-the-top oversharing on the microblogging social network, Mayer's rationale for being a Twitter quitter was left vague ... until now.

The musician tells Rolling Stone, "I realized about a year ago that I couldn't have a complete thought anymore."

As for why? Mayer admits, "I was a tweetaholic." Hey, admitting it is the first step!

Mayer explains, "I had four million Twitter followers, and I was always writing on it. And I stopped using Twitter as an outlet and I started using Twitter as the instrument to riff on, and it started to make my mind smaller and smaller and smaller. And I couldn't write a song."

Now tweet-free and healthy, Mayer's got a new strategy in place when it comes to his music: "Here are the rules for recording this record: No drum machines, no loops, no keyboards to start out with, no excuses, no breaks, no laptops, no nothing." Mayer's down-to-business attitude is no joke, and he adds, "If you take a
break, it's to eat. If you're done, you go home."

LONDON (Reuters) - The funeral of British singer Amy Winehouse (was) being held Tuesday after an autopsy failed to pinpoint the cause of her death.

A spokesperson for the late Amy Winehouse has said a small, private funeral will be held for the five-time-Grammy Award winning UK singer who died Saturday for unknown reasons.

The spokesperson said that only friends and family would be attending the ceremony Tuesday and declined to say exactly when or where it would take place.

The family is known to be eager to prevent the notorious UK tabloid press from harassing guests arriving at or leaving the funeral.

Early indications show her music is set to dominate the British singles and albums charts this weekend, mirroring what happened in the weeks following the death of Michael Jackson.

The 27-year-old Winehouse, who had long battled drug and alcohol problems, was found dead in bed at her home in London on Saturday. Her funeral was being attended only by family and close friends, a spokesman said.

An inquest opened Monday and was adjourned until October, with police describing the death as unexplained. More tests are being carried out, with the results expected next month.

Her family was quoted in newspapers as saying they thought she died of a heart attack or seizure. Her boyfriend, Reg Traviss, denied rumors that she died in a drug-fueled haze.

"She had been full of life and so upbeat recently, exercising every day and doing yoga," he told the Sun. "This terrible thing that happened is like an accident."

Record industry body the Official Charts Company said on Tuesday that the singer's music was expected to dominate the British charts.

She is on course to have seven singles in the Top 40 and 14 in the Top 200, with the biggest selling track currently "Back To Black" followed by "Rehab," "Tears Dry On Their Own," "You Know I'm No Good" and "Valerie."

In the year following his death in June 2009 Jackson sold more records in Britain than any other artist.

As she fought drugs and alcohol, Winehouse slid from being a chirpy teenage singer to someone who could barely walk at her final concert performance in Belgrade, Serbia.

The Daily Telegraph newspaper reported Monday that material recorded before Winehouse's death could be released as a posthumous album. They cited sources who said Winehouse had recorded "a lot of material" and that her parents would have the final say on whether a new album was to be released.

Winehouse's spokesman told Reuters there was no news about the release of a third album. "I know there's material about, but no one's talked about it," he said.

"Our family has been left bereft by the loss of Amy, a wonderful daughter, sister, niece. She leaves a gaping hole in our lives," the Winehouse family tells Us Weekly in a statement. "We are coming together to remember her and we would appreciate some privacy and space at this terrible time."

The "You Know I'm No Good" singer is survived by her father, Mitch, her mother, Janis, and her older brother, Alex. Winehouse's father was in New York City when he learned of her death. "I'm getting on the next plane back. I'm coming home. I have to be with Amy," he reportedly said. "I can't crack up for her sake. My family needs me. I'm devastated; it's such a shock."

Janis believed her daughter's death had been "only a matter of time" when they met just 24 hours earlier. "She seemed out of it," Janis said. "But her passing so suddenly still hasn't hit me."

Jill Scott Back With New Album ‘The Light Of The Sun’ by CMeezy

After four years, Jill Scott finally has a new album in 2011, and she has more to say than ever before. The Grammy Award winning R&B singer drops the new album, titled The Light Of The Sun, Tuesday. The record features production from Terry Lewis, JR Hutson and Justice League, and guest appearances from Anthony Hamilton, Eve, Doug E. Fresh and Paul Wall. In a recent interview with NPR, Scott said that most of her lyrics, which are known for being very cryptic at times yet extremely personal, are usually not premeditated before the recording process begins. "Not everything is up for conversation; not everything is up for art. But do I really discern what is and what’s not? That’s the question," she says. "Particularly with this record, I’ve really just been standing in front of the microphone and blacking out musically. I come back a couple hours later and there’s six songs from beginning to end." Scott, a Philadelphia native who describes herself as a "motherf—— G" in a spoken-word track called Womanifesto, got her start when she was discovered by Amir "?uestlove" Thompson of The Roots, for which she sang and wrote music for. She built a solo career with the humble Roots beginning, but hit some hard times over the last few years after a divorce and a short relationship that left her a single parent. She looks like a new woman in 2011, however, showing off a big weight loss, and new dedication to her music. Her experiences speak loudly through her lyrics as well: "God, please hear my call / I am afraid for me," she sings in Hear My Call. "Love has burned me raw / I need your healing."
