Kiowa Gordon had active warrant for failure to appear on earlier charges

"Twlight" star Kiowa Gordon, who plays the shapeshifting werewolf in the mega-popular big-screen franchise, was collared on suspicion of drinking and driving Tuesday in Arizona.

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Department confirms that the 21-year-old actor was taken into custody on a DUI "liquor/drugs/vapor" combo. After running his name through the database, deputies discovered an active warrant out for Gordon's arrest for failing to appear in court on previous charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and giving alcohol to minors.

Gordon reprises his role as Embry in "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn," the final films based on Stephenie Meyer's romantic-fantasy series. The first of the two-part finale opens Nov. 18.
